preggers...

One of my best friends from high school was checking out my blog today and asked a question about one of my posts. And I realized if you didn't see me every week at church, then you might not know that we are expecting!

It came as a very big shock to our family. I found out when I went in to the clinic for the week before you have an IUD placed tests. So maybe shock is an understatement? Yeah, I was pretty sure we were done, at least for a several years, but when the Lord wants (or needs) to send our next child to earth what say do I really have in the matter. Apparently none, but after some tears and lots of prayers, we are looking forward to a new baby in October.

So because I got pregnant on the pill, and not planning my dates, I have already had an ultrasound to determine my due date. And we are happy to say there is only one baby and so far so good, very large (surprise surprise!) and healthy, just the way we like em! And my Dr. just moved to a private practice and did not renew his ultrasound agreement with the grumpy lady on post, who refuses to tell you the sex of the baby much less be polite to you, but with Sierra Vista Diagnostics downtown so I am looking forward to another and more in-depth ultrasound around the first of June.

Anyway...that rounds up the fun of my life right now. Back to baths and bedtimes!

Yummy!

I thought some random pictures of my kiddo's eating junk would be fun. And I blame Elina's four cavities on the soft enamel that runs in our family, ha!

Yea for cookie dough! This is what happens once mommy starts getting over the nausea. Jason actually made it home before six, so I thought a walk that evening would be nice. I also thought chocolate chip cookies actually sounded yummy. Needless to say, we stayed home and made cookies instead of walking.

Man am I a sucker. Not only do they get spoonfuls of cookie dough, but also a cookie when they are done baking. Because you NEED both, right?

Ha! This one still makes me laugh out loud. For all you mothers with older children than me, I am sure you can recognize this picture. After the Cove we get McDonalds chicken nuggets, and as we are driving home Elina says, "Momma, look at Noah! He is sleeping with chicken in his mouth". And sure enough he was dozing, and would fall asleep until I took a corner or bump, and would sit straight up and start chewing again, only to nod off again in a few seconds. It was a first for me and very entertaining!

These last two are of the kids eating muffins on our drive to California last week. Well, I don't know if "eating" is really the right description, more like destroying into massive crumb piles. And what would a road trip be if you didn't find at least a pound of every food group ground into your kids car seat by the time you got to Nanas?

Good times... well I am off to Bunco!

still alive...

Ok, so I didn't abandon this whole blogging idea so quickly. We have been out of town for the past ten days. It was a last minute trip, like we got a phone call from Jason's mom about some family drama at 8:30 am and we were in the car by noon, to make the 18 hour drive to northern cali, last minute trip! It has been a crazy week, pretty good overall. The drama was exactly that, so we called it after a few days in Etna CA, and took the long way home through Nevada. Stopping in Las Vegas for a few days to visit with Grandma Burnside and letting her have the privilege of babysitting our kids while we saw the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur hotel for our five year anniversary.

It was awesome! A very clean and entertaining show, in Vegas I know!, and good food that we ate medieval style with our hands. I would recommend it to anyone who gets the chance. And, we did the dolphin habitat at the Mirage hotel.

It was really nice day, not to hot, so it was very pleasant. A little spendy, but good pictures. So here goes my first attempt at putting pictures in my post, well see how it goes...Well, I think I did pretty good. Luckily I was paying attention long enough during the luncheon to hear Suzanne tell us about using the edit html version to put your pictures throughout your text. I am pretty proud of that!

Blogging

This morning at relief society we learned how to make a blog, so here goes! Nothing monumental to say, just thought I should put something on the page. A picture and short note will have to do while the monsters, I mean my children, are swarming me! Maybe something more mind intriguing later...
